Qualcomm Snapdragon processors are widely used over the mid-range mobile of a system on chip (SOC) semiconductor product. With its high-end processors, it soon becomes a market leader. Its earlier product Snapdragon 670 SoC that was launched in August, was an instant hit.
With all new upgrade, it unveils Snapdragon 675 as the successor of its last launch and back into the spotlight by featuring some high-end technology like triple camera configuration in the front or back high-quality selfies, telephoto, wide angle, and super-wide image capture. It already seems like pushing all technology boundary a mobile can posse.
Snapdragon 675 has used 11nm LPP process technology, an octa-core Kryo 460 CPU, and Adreno 612 GPU that supports OpenGL ES 3.2, Open CL 2.0, Vulkan, and DirectX 12.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 has Spectra 250L ISP for 14-bit image signal processing along with support for up to 48-megapixel snapshots, single 25-megapixel at 30fps with Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL) and dual 16-megapixel cameras at 30fps and ZSL.
It provides new architectures and performance improvements over the previous generation Snapdragon 670 in Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and offers 30 percent faster game launch time. Plus, the chip supplies 35 % faster Web browsing and 20 % faster music launch over the previous Snapdragon SoC.

It has Ultra-HD (4K at 30fps) video recording support with Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering and HD (720p) video recording at 480fps.
It includes the upgraded Spectra 250L ISP (not the regular 250, as featured on the Snapdragon 670), for up to three camera support, with the 25MP single camera or 16MP dual camera support.
This new chip can enhance devices to deliver over 11 hours of video playback, 11 hours of video streaming, three hours of 4K video recording, seven hours of gaming, or almost five days of music playback on a single charge.
“Packed with the advanced gaming abilities, remarkable camera performance and a multi-core AI Engine, Snapdragon 675-based smartphones will bring new experiences to consumers globally,” said by Kedar Kondap, Vice President, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies.
Additional, the new Snapdragon SoC has the Qualcomm’s Aqstic audio codec and smart speaker amplifier, native DSD support, and aptX audio playback along with support for aptX Classic and HD to uplift audio in gaming.
Kedar Kondap also added “The Snapdragon 675 plays a primary role in allowing OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to design next-generation features with incredible performance into their upcoming smartphones,”
The chipset is already available to manufacturers, we can expect devices powered by Snapdragon 675 from the first quarter of 2019.
