After controlling the Indian smartphone market, Chinese company Xiaomi announced that they will manufacture its popular Mi LED TVs in India.
They make the partnership with Noida- Dixon technologies. The new manufacturing factory is located in Triputi, Andra Pradesh. It was appointed by Cheif Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu.
N.C Naidu said ” I have a vision of making Tirupati an IT Hub, offering a one-stop solution for leading electronics players encompassing the entire life cycle of an ecosystem in electronics from design to death”
Chief Minister Naidu also added “I am delighted to welcome Xiaomi, the undisputed leader of ‘Smart TVs’ in India, along with Dixon Technologies to the holy city of Tirupati and to the family of other leading electronic players that will help showcase the state as an example of transparent governance”
The polt is spanning across 32 acres. The company employs more than 850 people. They want to build a capacity to produce 100,000 Mi LED TVs per month by the first quarter of 2019. Xiaomi plan to start manufacture Mi LED Smart TV 4A 180cm (43″) and Mi LED Smart TV 4A 80cm (32″) first.
According to the market research firm, IDC’s “World Quarterly Smart Home Device Tracker 2018Q2”, Mi LEd TV becomes the top “Smart TV’ brand in India”.
Manu Jain, MD of Xioami and Vice President Of Xiaomi India told ” After a successful smartphone journey, we are beginning a new chapter with Mi LED TV manufacturing in India. We are already the No.1 smart TV brand here, and we hope with our increased focus on local manufacturing, we would be able to increase our supply”.
Nara Lokesh, state IT Minister added: ” Our target is to get an ecosystem in the state where $250 billion worth of electronics manufacturing will happen, which is half of the country’s consumption of electronic in India every year”.
In 2015, Xiaomi said that they were going to start local smartphone manufacture factory in India. Now, Xiaomi has six smartphone manufacture factory in India. Currently, Xiaomi’s 95% smartphones are sold in India that is made locally in India. Xiaomi is growing steadily day by day.
Mi also started “Mi Home Experience Stores” in India. In stores, they are introducing air and water purifiers, security cameras, projectors, televisions and etc.
Now, the company has four “Mi Home Experience Stores” in Bangaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and another 36 stores across India. They targeted to open 100 “MI Home” store In India.
